Amazon Prime Day is rapidly coming to a close, and as WIRED's resident headphone expert, I've been hunting down the best Prime Day headphone deals for your consideration. Prime Day is a great time to find discounts on all sorts of tech, but it can be hard to tell whether something is truly a good deal or just an inflated markdown. This is doubly so when certain deals are only for Prime Members.

I've been covering headphones for over four years, including guides to wireless earbuds, noise-canceling earbuds, open earbuds, and more. I know which headphones are worth your time and which deals are skippable. Below I've curated truly good products on sale that are worth a look.

Be sure to check out our other sale coverage of the Absolute Best Prime Day Deals, the Best Prime Day Tech Deals, the Best Prime Day Soundbar Deals, and more.

Updated 3 pm ET October 7: I've updated this guide with new additions from Shokz, Beats, and Sonos. I also checked that prices are still discounted and worth considering.

Apple AirPods Pro 3 are the best wireless earbuds for iPhone users. This latest model has some of the best noise-canceling and transparency you can find in an earbud, with clear, detailed audio no matter what you are doing. They also come with many unique features like a built-in heart rate sensor and live translation. Plus, they get up to eight hours of battery on a single charge.

The Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro are my favorite wireless earbuds purely because the call quality is the best on the market, especially at this price point. I've talked to friends and family while standing on a highway overpass, and they didn't hear any background noise. This is the first time these earbuds have been on sale.

The Nothing Ear (a) are already some of the best budget headphones around—a sale only makes that more true. The noise-canceling and sound quality punch above their price tag. Sound quality in particular is balanced and open, more so than most budget earbuds. They look stylish, with a semi-transparent and colorful design I love.

Beats

Studio Buds +

If you're looking for budget earbuds that are a little more subtle than the Nothing Ear (a), these Beats earbuds are small, lightweight, and don't stick out of your ears as much. They have all the ANC and transparency features you would expect, and they are at their lowest price ever right now.

Anker

Soundcore Liberty 4 NC

Yes, I've seen these at a lower price before, but the Soundcore Liberty 4 NC are still one of my go-to budget earbud recommendations. That's because you get pretty good noise-canceling, transparency, sound quality, and call quality for well under $100, plus nice-to-have features like wireless charging and IPX4 water resistance.

Samsung

Galaxy Buds4 Pro

If you've got a lot of Samsung devices, these Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro will slot in seamlessly with all your gadgets. They are some of the best wireless earbuds around, thanks to great noise canceling and a particularly natural-sounding transparency mode. Some features are locked to Samsung phone owners, so you should only buy these if you're already in that camp.

Google

Pixel Buds Pro 2

No, this isn't the most impressive sale for the Google Pixel Buds Pro 2, but they remain small, lightweight, comfortable earbuds that pair wonderfully with any Android phone. Despite launching in 2024, they continue to receive notable software updates, including improved Gemini integration and head gesture controls. That's on top of solid sound quality, noise-canceling, call quality, and fit.

Beats

Powerbeats Pro 2

Another great pair of workout headphones, the Powerbeats Pro 2 are as full-featured as you can get, with impressive noise-canceling and transparency modes, built-in heart rate sensors, and tactile button controls on each earbud. They have an extremely secure fit—I tried and failed to get them to fall out of my ears, no matter what kind of exercise I did.

JLab Audio

Go Sport+

If you're just looking for cheap workout headphones that stay put and do their job, the JLab Go Sport+ are what you need. On sale for $20, they have IP55 dust and water resistance, more than nine hours of battery life, a steady Bluetooth connection, and customizable settings via the JLab app. Sure, the sound quality won't impress you, but at this price, that's to be expected.

Best Prime Day Open Earbud Deals

These are the best open earbuds for premium comfort and detailed sound. They wrap around your ear like a stylish ear cuff and let you clearly hear the world around you (alongside your music). I use them for outdoor runs and bike rides, where spatial awareness is key to staying safe. The one strike against them was price, but at 33 percent off that's a moot point.

Shokz

OpenDots 2

My current top pick for open earbuds. The OpenDots 2 are comfortable, sound great, and have stellar battery life—up to 10 hours for the buds and up to 40 hours with the charging case. IP57 dust- and water-proofing means you can wear these in basically any weather with no issues.

Shokz

OpenRun Pro 2

One of my favorite workout headphones, these use bone conduction (vibrations) and air conduction (speakers) to deliver music to your ears clearly, even if you are biking into a headwind. Which I've done many times.

Best Prime Day Over-Ear Headphone Deals

This is an absolute steal for these great (if a bit old) noise-canceling headphones. The steep discount is likely because Bose is phasing these out in favor of the new and improved 2nd Gen version. Still, these originals are great for travel because they are lightweight, comfortable, have great noise-canceling, and come with a wired connector and hardshell travel case.

Nothing

Headphone (1)

This is the lowest price I've ever seen for the Nothing Headphone (1), one of our favorite pairs of over-ear headphones. They have one of the best designs around, with a stylish transparent look and tactile controls like a volume wheel, on-off switch, and media control paddle. They are also battery life champs—up to 35 hours with noise-canceling on and 80 with it off.

Sony

WH-1000XM5

Fifty percent off is almost unheard of for premium over-ear headphones like these, but it makes sense—the Sony WH-1000XM5 have largely been replaced by the Sony WH-1000XM6 and Sony WH-1000XM4C. Still, these XM5s are top-tier performers, with excellent noise-canceling and sound quality. They feel so lightweight that they're comfortable to wear for hours.

Apple AirPods Max 2 are the best over-ear headphones for Apple loyalists—they work seamlessly with your iPhone, iPad, and MacBook. They have some of the best sound quality, noise-canceling, and transparency on the market, rivaling other premium options from Sony and Bose. $120 off brings their sky-high sticker price down to a more reasonable level.

Sonos

Ace

The Sonos Ace are at their lowest price ever and are a great pair of over-ear headphones, especially if you have a Sonos soundbar at home. I've been using them at home for years—they are comfortable, easy to use, and sound great. You can also beam TV audio from your Sonos soundbar straight to the headphones by holding down the media button, no extra pairing required.

Beats

Studio Pro

The Beats Studio Pro are deeply discounted basically year-round. They get an even further discount during sale events like Prime Day, so while $150 looks impressive on paper, these usually cost about $200 the rest of the year. All that aside, they are solid headphones for this price, with great noise-canceling and a natural-sounding transparency mode.

Space One Pro

A great discount on an already reasonably priced pair of headphones. They've got all the features you would expect out of high-end headphones: good noise-canceling, a flexible, portable design, a long 40-hour battery life with ANC on, and some premium materials, but at a much lower price, especially on sale.

Sony

WH-CH720N

Sony recently launched the CH730N, which is why this prior version is now rock-bottom priced. The 720N stands out because they are super lightweight at 192 grams, far lighter than most of the competition. They also have noise-canceling, transparency, and up to 35 hours of battery life.
