BMW's New 7 Series Is All About Screens And Sounds
Released on 04/22/2026
Wow.
Whoa.
So that is a big 31-inch screen.
This is actually really nice.
This is a silver screen on wheels.
It's BMW's flagship new 7 Series.
Holy crap.
I'm a six foot four person
and I've never had this much leg space in a car
or an airplane.
So this is a very luxurious experience.
I could get used to it if this car didn't cost
just under $100,000.
This is BMW's executive car.
So the experience is all about the person
in the backseat being driven.
To that end, you can see that there's screens everywhere,
screens over here, screens over there, screens over there,
and a new passenger screen over there as well.
But the crazy thing here
is the upgraded theater screen experience.
So that is a big 31-inch screen that just moved into place.
All the blinds went up, so it's nice and little dim
and cozy in here, but there's also a really cool feature
where you can have the front seat.
You know, presumably no one sitting there,
that front seat will now start moving all the way forward
and can maybe sort of tell that I am being
pushed a little bit back, a little cozy, you know,
getting to that little luxury theater experience.
So 31.3 inch screen.
You can install third party apps here.
There's even an integrated webcam,
so you can actually take Zoom calls here.
It's a Bowers & Wilkins audio system with Dolby Atmos.
But let's talk more screens,
because seriously, there's more screens.
For the first time the passenger gets their own screen here.
This is a 14.6 inch screen.
Now this is an independent Android based operating system,
so it's not like this is necessarily paired with that.
You can't quite sync movies back and forth,
so you do have to press play at the exact same time
if the front passenger wants to watch
the same thing as the rear passenger.
But you can do sort of the same sort of things
where you can install apps and get the same experience,
connect your own headphones through Bluetooth
and enjoy that little isolated experience here.
Now of course, the driver has their own 17.9 inch screen
for all of the controls for the vehicle,
but also there is the panoramic iDrive heads up display
all over here in the front.
That is sort of the HUD of the car.
You can customize what information goes in some parts
like here we have the weather over here on the right side,
but of course speedometer and all the important information
will be there for the driver in that little display.
This is gonna be BMW's first car in the U.S.
with that panoramic iDrive HUD, but we have seen it before
on the iX3 and the i3.
Still, this car will land earlier than those in the U.S.
a little later this year.
