It was nice hiking a few miles of the Appalachian Trail with them. Getting a taste of their life for the next few months as they head south. I’m not sure if they are typical AT hikers, if there is a typical hiker, but when I left them after a long night of rain I had nothing but respect for them. It’s even less often that the person happens to be a world-class French horn player. Noble’s car broke down on a small street in Nashville; I figured I’d offer him some tools or a push up a hill. Turns out he had a towrope and was fed up with his car.
