Before that, she served as an associate editor at MIT Technology Review, where she wrote about biomedicine. Her stories have also appeared in National Geographic, Scientific American, Smithsonian Magazine and The Washington Post, among other outlets. She has a master's degree in science writing from Johns Hopkins University.
