The Irish have produced their share of great boxers -- John L. Sullivan and Jack Dempsey come to mind -- and now you can add Muhammad Ali to the list. Researchers in County Clare have turned up evidence that Ali's great-grandfather, Abe Grady, emigrated to America from County Clare in the 1860s. He settled in Kentucky, where he married a black woman. Their son also married a black woman and their granddaughter, Odessa Grady, would marry Cassius Clay in the 1930s. The fruit of that union was also named Cassius, but not for long.
